What funding can I claim back?

  1. If you're based in UK: Return travel between your Unit and the point of departure from the UK - £50 PLUS Return travel between UK point of departure and the Championship venue - £125.

  2. CILOR (Cash in Lieu of Rations): Approximately £80 (6 days) at current rate.

  3. Additional funding may be available from your Unit

  4. Beginners’ bursaries:

    Beginner’s Alpine, Telemark and Snowboard Lessons.  For 2024, there will be beginner bursaries available for skiers and snowboarders (subject to applicant numbers and financial approval); this should not be relied on as it is not guaranteed at this stage. Applicants must have no previous experience in ski or board activities requested and must have booked their package through Wasteland Travel for any potential reimbursement to be paid. Additional eligibility criteria are:

     

    a.         You must be a serving member of the RN or eligible RN Reservist.

    b.         You must complete the Alpine, Telemark or Snowboard beginner’s package (those who have received a few hours of indoor lessons remain eligible to apply).

    c.         All Lessons must be booked at the following link

     

    Failure to attend lessons. Other than through illness or injury (that must be reported to the Event Director), personnel who miss lessons will be invoiced, via the CO of their Unit, for £20 per missed lesson, including for beginners utilising a bursary.
